Environmental Week at Halte: 5 Green Office Challenges!

Monday April 22nd, 2024, 10:00 AM

Every year, on April 22nd, millions of people around the world gather to celebrate Earth Day. This day is dedicated to raising awareness and taking action for the environment, highlighting the challenges our planet faces and encouraging everyone to take steps to protect it.

The history of Earth Day dates back to 1970, when American Senator Gaylord Nelson launched this initiative to raise public awareness about growing environmental issues. This initial celebration brought together millions of people across the United States and marked the beginning of a global movement for environmental protection.

Impact:

Since then, Earth Day has become a major annual event, involving organizations, governments, businesses, and citizens from around the world. Each year, a specific theme is chosen to highlight a crucial environmental issue. Activities such as beach cleanups, tree plantings, climate conferences, and awareness campaigns are organized to encourage participation and action.

Earth Day is also an opportunity to reflect on our ecological footprint and the impact of our actions on the environment. It encourages adopting sustainable lifestyles, reducing waste, protecting biodiversity, and supporting initiatives to combat climate change.

At our scale:

At Halte, we have a unique opportunity to mark this day with inspiring initiatives and concrete actions to protect our planet. We firmly believe in the collective responsibility to preserve our environment and create a sustainable workplace. Some everyday gestures can contribute to respecting the environment every day.

Selective sorting and recycling: We have selective sorting bins throughout the space to encourage waste recycling. Please sort your waste correctly and follow the recycling instructions displayed.

Waste reduction: We encourage the use of reusable containers for drinks and meals to reduce plastic waste. Remember to bring your own reusable cup or bottle.

Energy saving: Please contribute by turning off lights and devices when leaving a room.

Sustainable mobility: Encourage carpooling, biking, or public transportation to get to our coworking space. We support sustainable transportation methods and have bike facilities available.

5 green challenges at the office for this environmental week at Halte:

  1. Monday, April 22nd: Let's promote a waste-free lunch at the office, bring your meal in a reusable or compostable container.
  2. Tuesday, April 23rd: Used battery collection initiative at our reception.
