During the holiday season, La Halte is organizing a collect of women's products in collaboration with the Centre des femmes de Montréal! Additionally, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the center and its achievements. Notably, our member, Mrs. Joëlle Thibault, has been leading the center since 2021.

What is the Centre des femmes de Montréal?

The Centre des femmes de Montréal is a non-profit organization created by women in 1973, for women. Their mission is to provide professional, educational, counseling, and guidance services to help women help themselves. With a team of 50 dedicated employees and over 75 volunteers, they are committed to empowering women to take control of their destinies and lead productive and fulfilling lives. The cultural and ethnic diversity of their team allows them to offer services in French, English, Spanish, Arabic, and Creole.

Joëlle Thibault, a member of La Halte, explains her involvement with the women's center:

"I come from a family where community involvement has always been encouraged and present. The cause of women is particularly close to my heart, and I found in the Centre an approach focused on highlighting women's abilities through exclusively female support. I have been involved with the Centre des femmes de Montréal since 2018 as a member of the board of directors and since 2021 as president. According to the center's needs, I make myself available for strategic and funding questions, as well as in connection with HR and the prevention and management of difficult situations."

The collect we are organizing will start on Monday, November 20, 2023, and run until Friday, December 8. On this occasion, we invite members of La Halte to bring various items that will directly support the organization.

Let's not forget to encourage diversity in donations, emphasizing the importance of the quality of items and, where possible, favoring new items.
