This week, we are pleased to spotlight Formind, an international company present on three continents. Formind has been a member of our coworking space since the summer of 2023, for just over a year now!

1. Can you briefly introduce Formind and explain what your area of activity is?

Formind is a cybersecurity company based in Montreal. It is part of an international group with over 300 experts worldwide. Formind provides cybersecurity consulting services to help businesses protect their sensitive information, secure their infrastructures, and manage the risks associated with digital security.

2. Why did you choose a coworking space?

For the flexibility and dynamism that La HALTE 24-7 offers. In the field of cybersecurity, innovation and collaboration are essential, and coworking spaces allow for working in an inspiring environment. It also facilitates networking with other companies and professionals, which is valuable for a growing company like Formind!

3. Tell us a bit about your role, your background, and the motivations that led you to create Formind

As the director of Formind, I oversee the development of the company and our cybersecurity expertise in Quebec. With a background of 8 years in the field, I wanted to create a framework where we could help local businesses (large enterprises and SMEs) tackle the current IT security challenges. I am also motivated by the mission of democratizing access to advanced yet easy-to-use cybersecurity solutions.

4. Quels sont vos projets en cours ?

Currently, our team is focused on several key projects to help our clients strengthen their information security. We are leading initiatives in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to ensure better control over access to critical systems. We also have a dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC) team that continuously monitors threats and responds quickly to incidents.

Our projects include Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) programs to structure cybersecurity around the strategic needs of businesses and ensure compliance with relevant standards and laws, such as ISO 27001, Bill 25 in Quebec, or SOC2 certifications, through comprehensive technical and organizational audits.

Cloud security is also a priority, with measures to protect the cloud environments of businesses migrating to more modern solutions.

Finally, we pay particular attention to SMEs by offering solutions tailored to their specific needs, as they represent a critical challenge in the digital ecosystem.

5. What are your aspirations and plans for the next few years?

We aim to strengthen our presence in Quebec and Canada by recruiting more local talent and expanding our client base in strategic sectors. We also plan to expand our offerings to include more managed security services. Beyond Canada, our long-term goals also include establishing Formind as a key player in cybersecurity in North America.
