Green challenges in honour of Earth Day

Wednesday April 22nd, 2026, 10:30 AM

That’s why the Halte team is sharing a few simple steps you can take in the coming weeks; now is the time to adopt more eco-friendly habits!

  1. We invite you to bring your meal in recyclable or reusable containers. It’s a small step that helps prevent the creation of too much plastic waste. If you like to grab a coffee in the morning, consider getting a reusable cup.
  2. If you have batteries lying around at home and want to get rid of them, take the time to drop them off at a collection point. Not sure where the nearest one is? Visit the Recycle Your Batteries Canada website to find a drop-off center!
  3. Find a local sustainable business to support, whether it’s near your home or close to La Halte. We suggest shops like Le Moineau Masqué or Vivace!
  4. Use public transit or walk whenever possible! Bus, metro, Bixi: you have plenty of options for getting around.
  5. Try preparing a meatless meal once a week—whether it’s a salad, a pasta dish, or any other recipe that inspires you!

These are small actions that, in the long run, can have a big impact; now is the time to start adopting practices that help care for our planet. The Halte team hopes we’ve inspired you to adopt more eco-friendly habits!
